Withershin was spawned in 2006, born from a devotion to black metal and ambitions to take previous musical attempts to a different level. In april 2007 Withershin recorded the demo “Chaos Discipline”, characterized by searing lead guitars, fierce energy, intense drumming and creative songwriting. It was released in early september.

Shortly after the recording, Withershin started searching for a new vocalist while working ceaselessly on new material. As winter approached, Nine, a forceful vocalist with the right qualities, was sworn into the band

In late 2007, Withershin joined forces with the American label Canonical Hours for the release of the upcoming debut album. The full-length “Ashen Banners”, an ominous and sinister work of pure wrath and terror, was recorded in studio Endarker during february 2008.

The blood-drenched black metal of Withershin is potent and devastating, fueled by great zeal and dedication. A profoundly violent and uncontrollable force, it explores the darkness without limitations.
