Marcus Madigan

1995. A band in the outskirts of Stockholm split up. Turmoil and distress had reigned for three years under the banner of classical influenced Heavy Metal. And after yet another three years one of the members would find himself up to his knees in studio equipment and newly wedded knowledge/skills in order to embark on a completely different journey. But this time, he would do so alone. "Elvira Madigan" was born.

1998 saw the first recording sessions as a one man project and the music to be put on tape was written and produced completely without care of genre or regard of an eventual market. Art and creativity was what mattered. And this has become the guidelines for everything done since that first ever note put on tape.

Together with the launch of the first website in the fall of 1999, and the end of the second sessions the project became official.

Avant-Garde,Black Metal, Speed Metal, Folk Metal, Progressive Metal, Art Metal. Yes the associations to genres are numerous, and quite natural since practically all those genres show up in songs very hard to define. Only one person stands behind Elvira Madigan. Marcus H performs all instruments, does all the production and sets the graphical outlines.
