Wake, The bio

Kaj Michelsson - Vocals and Bass
Sakari Lempinen - Guitar
Wellu Helenius - Drums
Jani Luttinen - Guitar

Following the successful Finnish metal invasion of Children of Bodom, Sentenced and US label mates Insomnium, The Wake find themselves in great company. Death-A-Holic, their American debut, is a melodic death metal masterpiece and a sure start to great possibilities stateside. Formed in 1998, The Wake recorded numerous demos before finding the attention of famed Spinefarm Records.

Their 2003 full-length debut, Ode to My Misery, found immediate acclaim throughout Europe and initial US curiosity from heavy music fans. It has been noted "anyone into the Arch Enemy school of melodic death metal simply cannot walk past this band for what The Wake so far lack in media exposure they quite simply make up for by sheer youthful energy."

The first through Spinefarm/Candlelight's American cooperation, Death- A-Holic is a priority release from a quality band. Think Clayman (In Flames) meets Doomsday Machine (Arch Enemy) - it is a record you can't miss
