Behemoth Embarks On 'Radio Rebellion Tour'; New Video Update After emerging as Ozzfest 2007’s most talked about act, Polish extreme metal titans Behemoth made their triumphant return to North America this week to strike fear into the hearts of the masses with their largest and most elaborate stage production yet. This month-long trek, dubbed the 'Radio Rebellion Tour', will see them co-headlining alongside Job For A Cowboy with Gojira and Beneath The Massacre in the support slots.
Nergal (vocals, guitars) further comments: “Behemoth has never been busier and we’ve never underwent this much of a grueling touring and promotional schedule. 'The Apostasy' worldwide touring cycle started last spring with some warm-up shows (50 dates across North America, Europe, Russia and Balcans). This summer we completed 46 shows in U.S. with Ozzfest and the extremely successful off-dates opening for Hatebreed and Lamb of God. I have to admit that it was hell of a tour! Everyone from crew to all of the band members were very friendly. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Ozzfest will definitely remain one of our best life experiences ever!
“We immediately flew back to Poland and literally jumped into Polish leg of 'The Apostasy' tour. For last couple of months some pseudo politicians attempted to stop us from doing any shows in our home country. In fact, all the venues that we played on this tour had issues because of that, but none of the clubs or local promoters gave up or canceled the show. At the end of the day we completed nine dates. Most of the places were sold out. These were hands down the biggest crowds I have ever seen at metal shows in my homeland. Unbelievable! Once we were done with Poland we packed the shit and left for the European run.
“The European tour was composed of 26 shows in row with no days off. It was a very intense schedule and ultimately resulted in probably the best European tour we’ve ever had. We had time of our lives in killer company of Kataklysm and Aborted, who not only became our good friends but also kicked our asses and made us work harder every fuckin’ night! What a perfect bill it was. We now have over 120 shows under our belt this year alone. My throat is begging for some time off and we are pretty worn out, but the level of adrenaline and excitement has never been higher.
“We kick off the ‘Radio Rebellion Tour’ tomorrow, which marks our first co-headlining tour in U.S. I’m so stoked. For the first time in North American we’ll be playing hour long sets. We’re bringing out a massive production with us and I can’t even tell you how thrilled I am about these shows. I am extremely pleased over the reactions and sales of 'The Apostasy' and I really didn’t expect such massively enthusiastic reactions from both the media and fans. I want to send out a huge thanks to everyone who bought the record and came down to the show, along with every interviewer and reviewer for their time and dedication. It really gives us lots of motivation for the future and we hope to see you all soon.”
Behemoth recently completed a new video for the track, "Prometherion," shot by acclaimed director Soren (All That Remains, Unearth). The clip is a frenetic, savage performance based video that perfectly showcases the band’s unrelenting energy and uncompromising vision. Look for the full-length version to make its exclusive online debut on the Headbangers Ball Blog on Oct. 25th.
