Celtic Frost Frontman Proposes A Slowdown in Tempo CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has posted the following message on his official blog:
"Some days ago, when commencing rehearsals of 'Return to the Eve', I vainly attempted, one final time, to convince the band to play some of the restrained older material even slower, to so derive a more majestic sound and much more heaviness and groove. I also believe that this would suit a group that no longer consists of adrenalized teenagers but rather of individuals who have become far more uncompromising than when they were younger. My proposal was again met with unequivocal rejection.
"I couldn't help thinking, at that very moment, that if I had made the very same proposal to Steve Warrior in HELLHAMMER in 1983, we would have slowed down the music to the extreme without hesitation. And then some.
"Nothing is really too radical at this point. Actually, at any point. Hence some of my career decisions." Date Posted 2006-05-06
