Sargeist is one of my favorites among the Finnish Black Metal scene. Each disc is quality and they always have a good variety of different styles.
Disciple Of The Heinous Path doesn't stray too far from what they've accomplished thus far. For the most part it's mid-tempo hypnosis with a killer Dissection type riff as the main focus. Only six songs on this album, but they are all epics the run between the 5-8 minute plus mark.
At times Sargeist gets a little doomier than usual but always seems to slam into a thrashy part. Stylistically, they are closer to sounding like the most recent Tsjuder disc than that split they did not too long ago. Once again, another quality black metal release from the band and it's label. Nothing earth shattering, but worth checking out nonetheless.
